Database of the Month

ProQuest Dissertations and Theses bills itself as “the world’s most comprehensive collection of dissertations and theses from around the world, spanning from 1861 to the present day and offering full text for most of the dissertations added since 1997.” It is a great source for those seeking dissertations and theses specifically and is also useful to those who need detailed information on research methods related to studies. Dissertations are capstone projects for students seeking doctoral degrees and report on original research conducted under the mentorship of senior scholars. The subscription cost to ProQuest Dissertations and Theses is shared between the Dulaney-Browne Library and the Law Library and patrons downloaded 1415 full text dissertations in the first year it was available.
